So it's been a while since I've written my amazing blog.
Lots has been happening.
I've been driving in Spain!! Mwa hahahaha!!! The first time was pretty scary but I've got used to driving on the wrong side of the road and the crazy drivers. Drivers here are so impatient. Though the other day I forgot I had to give way to the left on roundabouts so ended up cutting up some cyclists. Uh oh! :S They were alright so tis all good.
Living with the Spanish family is going really well. I love it here and the family are great. The children are so sweet. They are taking me to Seville for two days on Monday, can't wait.
Work is also going really well. The classes are good. We have recently had a rearrangement of a couple of classes. One of my classes, adult convo, has now gone to Caroline and instead I have a adults complete beginners English class with people from church. I love it! They are so enthusiastic and love coming and learning English. It is a big class, 13 students crammed into a room that only comfortable fits 8 students and me in it, so its a bit of a squeeze but its really good. Def my favourite class I think, though all my classes are good. Watched a film in a couple of classes lately to practise their listening skills and as a reward for a lot of exams, so that's been fun. Last night was funny because I was watching the film with my last class and they had turned the lights off to see it better, and Desmond and Caroline had come back early, saw no lights and were wondering what was going on. Hehe.
Last weekend I went to Lisbon for four days with the lovely Claire!! Was so good to see her, and we had such a great time. We did so much walking and Segways on Saturday that by the evening we couldn't walk because we were in so much pain!! Was still a great time tho. The Segways were so fun. It was funny cos they are quite big and you can hear them coming, but this cyclist wasn't paying any attention or looking were he was going and went straight into me! We did a gourmet walking tour, walked round ourselves and froze on an open top tour bus. The best night was Friday night when we went to a Fado restaurant. Fado is a Portuguese tradition, where you have Portuguese food and listen to a Fado band. They sing Portuguese songs while you are eating. It was such a great experience. We were the only tourists in there, and when the singers were singing some of the songs, the whole restaurant joined in. It was really amazing.
This weekend is CARNAVAL!! It's a big festival in Badajoz where everyone dresses up and goes and partys on the street. There is a big parade on the Sunday with people wearing Mardi Gras type costumes. I can't wait to see it.
Soon four of my friends who are doing the YWAM course in Caceres are graduating, and I'm off to see their graduation. I can't wait, will be really good.
One of my friends is helping me with my Spanish, so it is getting there slowly.
Oooooo Lisbon have C&A!! Was so happy to see it. Lol. It's such a great shop.
Lisbon and Spain are quite behind in their music, it's great as I'm always hearing old classics. Hehe. Lately I've heard Spice Girls and 'I'm Blue' hehe. I probs look like a loon sitting on the bus and mouthing all the words. hehehe
It's fun teaching English when the students say funny things and make funny mistakes. Hehe. Though I'm probs just as bad with my Spanish.
I'm loving the weather here. In January I had a BBQ and sunbathed by the swimming pool!! It's great weather, always double figures. Sometimes a bit chilly in the wind, but still really sunny. Though I do really want snow Gutted you all have snow and I don't haha. Trade anyone?? :P
Hope everyone is well. God bless.
